It was november of 1987 when Laura Davis was working in a Moncton store when Patrice Mailloux entered. He was on parole living in a halfway house, had consumed a large amount of alcohol and drugs and came in to rob the Hub Variety store on St George St. Before the robbery would end 16 year old Laura would be killed execution style.
Laura was a beautiful teenager who came from a good family in Riverview. She had two sisters who loved her dearly. She had her whole life ahead of her untill that night when Mailloux, a complete stranger to her, walked into that store. If you lived in the region at that time you were affected by what happened and chances are will never forget Laura and the details of what happened.
Mailloux was sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole before 20 years. It has now been 22 years and his parole hearing is coming up on Sept 24th. The Davis family will be travelling to Montreal to attend this and have all submitted statements. They are requesting for no parole be granted as well as no adsences be granted. He was granted an absence two years ago and it was revoked due to illegal sales of tobacco as well as other infractions. He was on an absence when he killed laura 22 years ago so it is understandable to feel he may commit crimes again or even commit murder again.
This man should be classified as a " dangerous offender " and should never step foot out of a prison except for in a body bag. He is a threat to society and has proven this more then once. Another person and family should not suffer a lifetime of pain due to this parasite.
If you agree and want to show your support to the Davis family write to The Minister of Justice; Hon.Rob Nicholson: NichoR@parl.gc.ca and request he be declared a "Dangerous Offender".
My thoughts are with the Davis family. They shouldn't have to live through this pain over and over again.
People's ignorance really blows my mind sometimes..
